Proclinical is advertising for a vacant Medical Science Liaison Haemophilia position with a leading pharmaceutical company that specialises in delivering therapeutics that provide meaningful advances to patients who live with rare genetic diseases. The Medical Science Liaison Haemophilia will be a regional, territory-focused position, that will support the company's scientific and business interests by cultivating current and future through leaders in academic and clinical medicine at the local, regional, and national level. This position will be with the company's France-based team.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the development of, and executing, scientific plans within their territory, to meet company-defined goals within corporate and regulatory guidelines for Haemophilia, pre-, peri-, and post approval, which are tracked on a monthly/quarterly/yearly basis.
  • Maintaining clinical and technical expertise in Haemophilia; reviewing scientific journals, attending scientific and key technical meetings in territory and sharing learning with key stakeholders.
  • Demonstrating a thorough understanding of both clinical and commercial strategies and priorities.
  • Acting as a primary source of scientific therapy area and product knowledge in territory for External and Internal stakeholders.
  • Working with the regional and national collaborative groups and guidelines committees as needed to ensure accurate and timely responses to product requests and disease state information.
  • Identifying, building, and developing strong relationships with KOLs, key investigators, and key treatment centres to facilitate mutually beneficial research on company products.
  • Delivering high quality scientific presentations on therapy area/company products to physicians and other key external customers.
  • Providing medical support during scientific congresses and symposia, such as attending company sponsored events.
  • Identifying, recommending, and training potential speakers for the company's presentations and advisory boards.
  • Assisting in the management of territory KOLs/Investigators involved in publications in collaboration with stakeholders, as needed.
  • Identifying and communicating key clinical and research insights and competitive trends from region to appropriate departments, to help shape company research, development, and strategies for investigational and commercialised products.
  • Responding to unsolicited requests regarding interest in investigator sponsored studies (ISS), and supporting ISS submissions or other research/educational support requests through appropriate internal processes.
  • Visiting potential research sites to determine the site's ability to conduct and accrue clinical research studies and registries (i.e patient volume, research experience, methodologies, competing studies, etc.)
  • Implementing and coordinating independent research (IR) activities intended to support the clinical and scientific strategy for Haemophilia.
  • Liaising with the Study Management and/or Clinical function by forwarding potential investigators for other company products in development.
  • Supporting company sponsored clinical studies (SIV, Phase III trials) and registry studies at territory sites by responding to inquiries, sharing feedback, providing training, and sharing new information, as appropriate.
  • Providing scientific knowledge training support for territory commercial colleagues, as needed.
  • Assuring compliance with company operational guidelines.
  • Contributing to functional improvement initiatives for the Medical Sciences function.

Skills and Requirements:

  • At least a BA/BS in life or health sciences; an advanced degree is (MS, doctoral level) is preferred.
  • 4 or more years of relevant experience as an MSL preferred.
  • Advanced communication skills and foundational competence leadership skills.
  • Strategic thinking, planning, problem solving, and decision making skills.
  • Demonstrable foundational competence in external stakeholder engagement, medical, and scientific knowledge.
  • Familiarity with key influences in the region or geography.
  • A thorough knowledge of products used to treat Haemophilia patients, their mechanism of action, efficacy, safety concerns, and development status.
  • An understanding of local or country-specific regulations and how they affect current study work.
  • A demonstrable ability to recognise, understand, articulate and respond promptly to issues, risks and opportunities that arise.
