Senior Buyer

Proclinical is pleased to advertise on behalf of an internationally known biotechnology company working within the fields of neurodegenerative diseases, haemophilia, and autoimmune disorders. The company is currently seeking to recruit a Senior Buyer for Indirect Purchases in their Solothurn office.

This is a contact position, starting at the end of February 2019 and running for a 10-month period.

Job Responsibilities:

• Being responsible for Indirect Purchases. This includes a variety of tasks, involving operational roles, strategic bidding, and following up with stakeholders.
• Engaging clients at a management level to ensure that sourcing is aligned with company objectives, whilst securing their sponsorship to meet corporate imperatives and to assign subject-matter experts to participate in sourcing projects. This will involve adhering to social responsibility, diversity, compliance and savings policies, as well as regularly soliciting feedback from project-level stakeholders to ensure that sourcing is performing well and continuously improving.
• The Senior Buyer must engage in category maintenance, including contract life-cycle management, category databases, scanning the marketplace for changes and managing any known or potential business impact and developing risk mitigation plans.
• Using Senior Buyer position to build up relationships with key stakeholders.
• Ensuring the continuous improvement of department and category business processes. This includes, but is not limited to, enhancing the sourcing process, developing and revising key sourcing procedures and documenting processes.
• Identifying and leading cross-functional teams, along with developing and managing the sourcing implementation plans.
• Negotiating contracts and transitioning to the business units for physical implementation.

Skills and Requirements:

• Fluency in English is a must, with any other languages being an advantage.
• Good communication skills and a strong team ethic.
• Being agile and accountable.
• Previous experience as a Senior Buyer an advantage.
