A well-known global pharmaceutical company with leading products across various therapeutic areas is looking to hire a Scientific Project Manager. This vacancy is an exciting opportunity to work at a top global pharmaceutical company that has a workforce of more than 6,700 employees across multiple sites in the UK.

As the Information Management Specialist within Oncology you will work within the Information Practice (IP) group leading the re-use of our clinical data and information to help maximize the value of late-stage drug projects.

Reporting to the Therapy Area Information Science Director you will act as a key member of the Oncology team deployed to Drug Project(s) to support specific pieces of work. You will be responsible for capturing and retaining knowledge in:
* Key drug project decisions and supporting documentation (Project Memory).
* Peer-review and investment decisions of development proposals.
* The re-use of shared clinical data, and the knowledge and value generated.
* Championing Good Information Practices

Job Responsibilities:

  • Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders
  • Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis
  • Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools
  • Track project Milestones and deliverables
  • Develop and control deadlines and prepare progress reports
  • Internal & external information sources usage (ex, PubMed, BiomedTracker, ClinicalTrials.org, Medtracker, CiteLine, Scopus)
  • Techniques could include: text mining, data visualization, competitive intelligence, and benchmarking


Skills and Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Project Manager (5+yr)
  • Good understanding of project management techniques and methods
  • Good leadership and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills and problem-solving ability
  • Post-graduate Graduate qualification in a scientific, medical, technological or life sciences subject or equivalent
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical industry working in the clinical drug development (Phase 1 to 3)
