packaging Engineer

Proclinical has partnered with an expanding CMO based in Georgia who are looking for a Packaging Validation Engineer to work on an interim basis.

The client is a Niche family run contract manufacturing company and they currently sit as the largest pharmaceutical contract manufacturer and packager of powder products in the US. After recently appointing a new CEO and having a very good financial year, they are increasing the site by expanding the facilities production.

The main objective is to Develop the filling of a two-sided pouch for an OTC product which uses (a) flavor on one side and (b) PEG on the other side. Also, the two-sided foil pouch will be formed, filled, and sealed using a KHS Bartelt Flexible Filler/Packager Machine.

Job Responsibilties:

• Learn machine operations by observing OEM service reps (2-3 weeks)
• Characterize range/target values of CPP to optimal speed and package integrity
• Generate registration lots of FP
• Write necessary qualification and other documents
• Execute protocols with assistance of technician staff / operators
• Generate reports
• Develop batch records

Skills and Requirements:

• Experience with powder filling in foil
• Experience with Bartelt filling equipment preferred
• Good written and oral communication skills
• Self-driven
• High Attention to detail
• Work well across boundaries; work well in a team with technician level staff
• Timely escalation of issues and progress
• Validation / Qualification protocols, execution, and reports
• Compliance with FDA regulations and guidance docs
