Proclinical is advertising a vacancy for an Analytical Chemist position with a top 10 global pharmaceutical company in their office in New York. This is an exciting opportunity to work for a leading organisation that specialises in developing products across various therapeutic areas, including cardiovascular, oncology, and respiratory fields.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Supporting Operations by analyzing raw materials, intermediate batches, packaging, and finished products as required.
  • Troubleshooting and investigating out of specification results.
  • Performing analytical testing on all incoming Raw Materials as per the company's reduced testing program as well as an annual full testing using USP/NF, FCC, and Pharmacopoeia.
  • Dispositioning raw materials, intermediates, batches, and finished products in a timely manner.
  • Logging data entries of test results and investigating out of specification results.
  • Supporting method, product transfers, and NPI activities as necessary.
  • Preparing, documenting, and maintaining test solutions and standards.
  • Maintaining, calibrating, and validating laboratory equipment.
  • Ensuring that GMP, Quality, and Health & Safety are considered in all aspects of the role.
  • Performing other duties as directed by QC Specialist or QC Manager.
  • Routinely testing Raw Materials, bulk batches, and packaging and stability samples.
  • Notifying Operations in manufacturing or filing processes if a problem affecting product quality is discovered.
  • Initiating investigations in quality related issues.
  • Quarantining bulk or finished products if the need arises.
  • Investigating out of specification and out of trend data and subsequently recommending CAPA.
  • Participating on cross-functional teams.
  • Complying with all safety procedures and policies.
  • Participating in Operational Excellent initiatives and programs.
  • Incorporating Lean Sigma/Lean Lab principles into ways of working.

Skills and Requirements:

  • A Science-field degree in an applicable scientific discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrable working laboratory experienced, preferably with FMCG experience.
  • A working knowledge of GSK Quality Standards, GLP, and GMP requirements.
  • A working knowledge of validations, calibration systems, and instrumentation.
  • A working knowledge of applicable GSK policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrable experience in writing, reviewing, and revising SOPs.
  • Demonstrable experience with troubleshooting and processing issues.
  • Capable of working in a team, analysing, and working with attention to detail, process and prioritise sensitive complex information, and solving problems.
  • Demonstrable multitasking, project management, and execution skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills, including communication, presentation, persuasion, and influence.
  • Good organisational skills, including efficiency, punctuality, and collaboration in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Laboratory Information System (LIMS).
