Proclinical’s international expansion continues with its latest new office opening in Switzerland. The office in Basel will aim to grow the life sciences recruitment agency’s client base across Europe and service the recruitment needs of existing clients with offices in Switzerland.

Plans to develop operations in Switzerland were initiated by rapid company growth and a high demand for skilled R&D professionals from leading Swiss-based pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, medical device and clinical research organisations, many of whom Proclinical already have established partnerships with in other European and APAC countries.

News of the new office follows the recent announcement that Proclinical were granted a SECO labour licence for permanent placement, enabling them to recruit for companies in Switzerland.

Client Services Director for Switzerland, John Bowler said, “It is an exciting time for everyone involved with Proclinical, both internally and externally. The growth of the business reflects the growth of our client and candidate networks, which enables us to source the best jobs and the best people to fill them. The new office opening in Basel is an important milestone for us because we can now provide a local service within one of the most important territories in the life sciences sector.”

The news is also positive for skilled pharma professionals from other European countries who would consider relocating. Working in Switzerland has shown to have many career benefits for pharma professionals as well as being attractive in terms of lifestyle and having some of the highest salaries in the world.

The Swiss pharmaceutical industry employs approximately 135,000 people, which is almost twice that of pharma companies in the UK. Switzerland has a strong history of innovation in pharma and is home to many of the world’s biggest pharmaceutical companies, including Swiss pharma giants Novartis and Roche, as well as non-domestic companies Pfizer, Merck, Sanofi, Biogen Idec, Amgen and Celgene.
