Proclinical is currently seeking a Communications Manager for a pharmaceutical company located in Hatfield, UK. Successful candidate will develop and implement key communications priorities to both internal and external audiences, to help deliver commercial and reputational success for Eisai EMEA. Candidate will report directly to the Associate Director of Communications EMEA.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deploy compelling communications programs and make recommendations to the business groups.
  • Ensure that communications for the brands and therapy areas are aligned and integrated.
  • Plan, manage and coordinate the development and distribution of proactive and reactive core media assets including news releases, background information, stand-by-statements, Q&As.
  • Liaise with media including planning of and organization of media events/interviews to ensure maximum impact of key message penetration.
  • Contribute to company-wide engagement by planning, developing and executing internal communication plans across business groups and functions.
  • Support the management of and development of editorial content for digital platforms - corporate website, intranet, EKC plasma screens.
  • Plan, manage and coordinate internal company meetings: company update meeting (2/year), Lunch and Learn (approx. 1/month), disease awareness campaigns.
  • Project manage agencies and other third-party suppliers to maximize return on investment through maintaining productive relationships and ensuring stringent budgetary management.
  • Ensure appropriate measures of success are incorporated into all communications plans to enable activities to be evaluated.
  • Ensure all communications are compliant with the ABPI code of practice and Eisai's SOPs.
  • Ensure internal and external activities and documents reflect the company corporate standards.
  • Manage and track expenditure versus budget for communications projects, in liaison with finance.
  • Act as an ambassador for the Eisai Communications team both internally and externally.

Skills and Requirements:

  • University Graduate (Communications, journalism, life sciences, social Sciences preferred.)
  • Second language is an advantage, but not essential.
  • High attention to detail, analytical skills and creative approach to problem solving.
  • Prior experience and proven expertise in delivering strategic healthcare public relations and communications programs within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Experience of working within a matrix structure, able to engage and forge relationships internally and externally.
  • Experience using multiple communications channels with good command of digital platforms include website optimization/management.
  • Understanding of media relations principles and experience of handling media-led issues.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate across different level.
  • Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex information clearly and simply to internal and external audiences.
  • Strong personal management skills including time management and workload prioritization.
  • Excels in a fast paced and dynamic international environment; calm under pressure.
