Proclinical, in support of our client, are seeking an individual to fill the role of Associate Director of Scientific Communications, based in Cambridge, MA.
Responsibilities
- Provide Medical Communication leadership across a portfolio of products.
- Lead the Publication Committee to ensure publication strategy alignment with global medical affairs objectives, provide ideas for generating manuscripts of scientific interests. Review manuscripts and abstracts to ensure alignment with strategy and the scientific platform
- Provide leadership that establishes best practice interactions with internal and external stakeholders.
- Plan and execute medical communication programs based on clinical interest and that support relevant commercialization strategies.
- Develop and manage Medical Affairs communication activities at scientific congresses.
- Develop and maintain medical communications business plan and budget as part of the overall strategy for medical affairs.
- Manage vendors to execute on agreed-upon tactics and projects.
- Drive the implementation of round table meetings to support the development of consensus papers that address unmet medical needs.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of disease biology, scientific data, and competitive data.
- Ensure all Medical Communication activities follow applicable internal and external guidelines.
Skills and Qualifications
- Advanced degree in clinical/scientific field and 3+ years of experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry in medical affairs. Oncology-specific experience required.
- Prior medical communications experience required.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience conducting formal presentations to Senior Management and external opinion leaders.
