Regulatory affairs lead,
Sydney-based biotech

Case study

The overview

We partnered with a global biotechnology company based in Sydney, Australia, who were looking to find a new regulatory affairs lead. Specializing in the discovery, development, and delivery of therapies for the treatment of neurological diseases, the company delivers solutions to patients worldwide.

The challenge

We were asked to support with the hiring of a regulatory affairs lead that the company had been struggling to fill with the right candidate for months. This was due to the need for someone with a proven track record of successful new biological entity registrations with TGA and a strong understanding of biological products.

The solution

We were able to quickly present our partner with a shortlist of four candidates. After an efficient interview process, a successful candidate was identified as a very strong potential hire. Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic at the time of hire (July 2020), there were some potential issues with remote working arrangements prior to the final interview. We worked to negotiate a working arrangement on both ends, culminating in an agreement for a 50-50 work arrangement post December 2020. Once the HR director approved the remote working arrangement proposal in principle, the final interview cleared quickly and the hire was successfully made.

The outcome

This was our first full time hire for the organisation but was soon followed up with another RA contractor placement within the same team. This individual had very relevant experience with eCTD baselining, which was the key project the RA manager needed assistance with.

Since those initial hires, we have been able to build a strong partnership with the company and they continue to use us as their partner of choice when hiring for new roles.
