Public biosimilars biotech, European growth plan
Case study
The overview
An established biopharmaceutical company partnered with us to build their medical affairs team in Europe for a new therapeutic area.
The challenge
Our partner was looking to expand their medical affairs team across 8 different locations in the EU, and partnered with us exclusively to complete this extensive project. The main challenge was that the candidate pool from which to identify top biosimilars talent was limited. We also needed to educate the candidate community about the therapy area, and promote the message of our partner and their upcoming work in the market.
The solution
We ran an exclusive RPO style model to hire across the different countries. We offered one dedicated point of contact and embedded them into the organisation to give them greater access and visibility to decision makers. This allowed them to act as brand ambassadors and continuously promote our partner and their message in the market. We developed a strong relationship with each of the hiring managers in the different regions, by identifying exactly what they needed, and implementing a plan and time-frame, which established where the searches would take priority and how the search would broaden out. We split the project into two sections - priority hires and secondary hires - to make the process more manageable.
We conducted market mapping across Europe, searching within competitor global pharmas, and looking at competitors in the same therapeutic area. We also looked at smaller consultancies and biotechnology companies. Exclusivity afforded us the opportunity to create a consistent image in the candidate community, as we had full oversight of the positions.
The outcome
We successfully placed candidates within our partner’s regulatory affairs, commercial, and clinical divisions.
The project was successfully completed within specified time-frames and budget
Following this success, we have now been awarded new European multi-hire projects
