Proclinical is currently seeking Principal Scientist/Associate Director of Immuno-oncology for a biotechnology company located in Boston, MA. The successful candidate should possess extensive knowledge in oncology and immunology, T and NK cell biology. The candidate will be able to lead the effort for developing T/NK cell therapy platform, building and optimizing cell-based immunoassays to characterize and assess immune cell functions. Experience with cell therapy and gene-editing is preferred. As co-lead of pipeline projects, the candidate needs to demonstrate the ability of delivering scientific results, and provide strategy, expertise, resources and guidance in a cross-functional environment. Successful candidate will report to the Senior Director.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Managing a growing team of research scientists and helping to build the scientific strategy in cell-based immunology therapy.
  • Developing T/NK cell therapy platform and optimizing cell-based immunoassays, including target discovery, T/NK cell isolation and expansion, multi-color flow cytometry, ELISA, ELISPOT, cytotoxic assays.
  • Independently designing and executing experiments, documenting and interpreting scientific results, presenting the data to cross-functional teams.
  • Working closely with cross-functional teams and providing scientific expertise and strategy.

Skills and Requirements:

  • PhD in cell biology/Immunology, or master with extensive experience.
  • 10+ years' post-graduate experience in human immunology and oncology.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in immune-oncology preferred.
  • Expertise in cancer biology and immune cell profiling and gene editing.
  • Hands-on experience and troubleshooting proficiency with cell-based immunoassays.
  • Track record of scientific publications and accomplishments.
  • Demonstrated ability in presenting scientific results.
  • A team player who can work efficiently as an individual.
  • Good knowledge of cell manufacturing and could travel to China when necessary.
  • Language Requirements: Mandarin, English.
