Proclinical is seeking a Reliability Engineer to join a dynamic team in Neuchatel, Switzerland. In this role, you will focus on improving the reliability of critical equipment and systems within a fast-paced cGMP biotechnology environment. You will apply reliability engineering principles, lead root cause analyses, and optimize maintenance strategies to ensure compliance with industry regulations and operational excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Enhance equipment reliability and maintenance processes using reliability engineering principles.
  • Conduct root cause analyses to improve manufacturing operations.
  • Measure and report reliability performance and implement improvements.
  • Analyze data to reduce costs associated with equipment failures.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities and compliance audits.
  • Ensure equipment and installations comply with GMP and FDA regulations.
  • Collaborate with production, quality, and safety teams to meet operational and quality requirements.
  • Lead reliability-driven initiatives and support capital projects as needed.

Maintenance Strategy:

  • Determine equipment importance levels and develop maintenance strategies.
  • Create and maintain preventive maintenance plans and SOPs.
  • Ensure the effectiveness of maintenance programs and work instructions.

Preventive Maintenance Optimization:

  • Identify and implement improvements in maintenance programs.
  • Manage equipment maintenance improvement initiatives.
  • Evaluate and approve preventive maintenance extensions with technical justification.

Predictive Maintenance Program Management:

  • Identify and prioritize underperforming equipment.
  • Develop strategies to prevent and detect functional failures early.
  • Implement predictive maintenance across the facility.

Failure Analysis and CAPAs:

  • Lead or participate in root cause analysis teams.
  • Analyze failures and damaged parts to eliminate functional failures.
  • Own equipment reliability-related CAPAs and respond to audit findings.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to identify and implement improvements.

Spare Parts Management and CMMS Metrics:

  • Maintain accurate equipment master data within CMMS.
  • Define and update spare parts lists and stock levels.
  • Assess functional equivalency for spare parts and evaluate technical suppliers.

Equipment Performance Data Analysis and Trends:

  • Monitor and analyze key performance metrics for critical equipment.
  • Report progress and effectiveness of reliability engineering initiatives.

Training and Documentation:

  • Provide training on reliability concepts to technicians and operators.
  • Develop troubleshooting guides and ensure availability of vendor documentation.

Key Skills and Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of GMP environments and operational maintenance methods.
  • Proficiency in English (spoken and written).
  • Experience with CMMS systems such as JDE or SAP.
