Proclinical is currently seeking a Director of Distribution, Pricing and Contracting for a biopharmaceutical company located in Washington, DC. Successful candidate will report to the Vice President, Market Access. This individual is responsible for the development and execution of the Client's channel, distribution and contracting strategy.
Job Responsibilities:
- Developing strategic requirements for commercial distribution and related contract proposals
- Partnering with the legal team to develop compliant, consistent and timely contracts to support business objectives.
- Working closely with internal stakeholders including but not limited to finance, legal, accounting, operations, payer marketing payer field team, marketing and field.
- Utilizing effective negotiation strategies and working with payer accounts directly or through field payer teams in negotiation of contract terms.
- Developing contract proposals and effective negotiation strategies.
- Providing competitive payer, provider, and distributor contracting insights including innovative contracting approaches such as risk-based, and outcomes-based contracting.
- Reviewing and approving all government price reporting calculations and documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance to regulations. Demonstrating an understanding of FSS and CMS statutory price calculations to support evaluations and analytics of pricing and product scenario planning.
- Providing accurate, proactive and reactive reporting, analytics and insights to the business that help improve forecasting, pricing/contracting decisions and general business planning.
- Managing discounts across all channels and proactively and accurately tracking the impact on Average Selling Price.
Skills and Requirements:
- BA/BS or equivalent in Marketing, Business, scientific or related field; PhD or MBA preferred.
- 12+ years professional experience in pharma/biotech industry/consulting environment.
- An awareness of government price calculations and impact.
- Experience with forecasting, modeling and average selling price models.
- Understanding of rebate and charge back operations.
- Deep understanding of physician office economics as related to buy and bill operations.
- Deep understanding of the medical benefit and the pharmacy benefit.
