A leading US biopharmaceutical organisation with a solid commercial portfolio of life-saving drugs within several therapy areas has a new Biology Research Associate job opportunity at their office in Seattle, Washington.
This is a contracted position.
Job Responsibilities:
- Planning and executing assigned experiments that support research activities and project goals.
- Selecting appropriate methods and techniques in performing experiments.
- Collaborating with supervisory personnel to develop research methods.
- Recommending alternatives, researching new methods and techniques, and proactively seeking out others to discuss potential solutions to problems.
- Presenting results of work, interpreting data, and drawing conclusions regarding presented material and nature of work.
- Using good verbal communication skills to provide insight into the processes used to achieve results of assigned tasks.
- Recognising anomalous and inconsistent results and interpreting experimental outcomes.
- Developing skills in data analysis, and an ability to evaluate quality of data.
Skills and Requirements:
- Five years of experience, along with a Bs/Ms degree in a related scientific discipline.
- Direct experience in research drug discovery and target identification/validation.
- A strong background in inflammation and immunology preferred.
- Proficiency with manipulation of small molecule inhibitors and signalling expertise is highly preferred.
- Expertise and experience with in vivo studies is considered a plus.
- Core biology skills, and experience in tissue culture and western blotting a bonus.
- Demonstrable knowledge of inflammation and immunology a bonus.
