Signaling & Network Engineer

Proclinical is currently working alongside a telecommunication company to recruit a dedicated Signaling & Network Engineer to join our team in Bern, Switzerland. In this role, you will focus on operating, maintaining, and enhancing signaling services and systems. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring reliable performance and scalability of the network. We are looking for someone who can proactively monitor and manage network capacity, troubleshoot technical incidents globally, and provide second-level support to both internal and external parties.

Responsibilities:

• Operate, maintain, and develop signaling services and systems.
• Implement and manage signaling links, including planning, routing, testing, and documentation.
• Provide technical support to customers and peers.
• Enhance the signaling network for reliable performance and scalability.
• Proactively monitor the network and manage its capacity to prevent service issues.
• Troubleshoot services and resolve technical incidents worldwide.
• Provide 2nd-level on-call duty support.

Key Skills and Requirements:

• University degree or equivalent in telecommunications or communication systems.
• Strong understanding of Mobile Networks and protocols.
• Experience with STP, DRA, PGW, HSS, and VAS platforms.
• Deep knowledge of protocols such as SS7/SIGTRAN, Diameter, GTP, and DNS.
• Proficient in using Wireshark/tcpdump and other tracing/monitoring tools.
• Ability to script in Python, Linux shell, and SQL; knowledge of Linux systems is advantageous.
• Dynamic, communicative, and customer focused.
• Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
