Proclinical is partnering with a major biotechnology company to advertise a vacancy for a Senior Medical Affairs Advisor MS position in the UK. The Senior Medical Affairs Advisor will be responsible for ensuring the development of medical activities in Multiple Sclerosis for molecules in development from pre-launch and beyond for the UK & Ireland affiliate. They will also provide technical/scientific consultation to both the medical and the commercial teams to ensure accuracy and compliance with the company standard and local rules and regulations. The successful applicant will be a registered medical practitioner or pharmacist registered in the UK, or with a license to practice in another country. Finally, they will have experience in the field of multiple sclerosis and will be looking to expand his/her industry experience.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Providing therapy area expertise to the affiliate.
  • Working collaboratively and providing scientific support to marketing, regulatory, market access, pharmacovigilance, the wider disease team.
  • Developing an appropriate franchise strategy including medical resource and planning in partnership with the I&I Leadership Team.
  • Overseeing the tactical implementation of medical strategy within the wider disease team franchise plan.
  • Building strong relationships with European Medical Leadership Team to ensure alignment of strategy.
  • Developing relationships with existing and emerging Key Opinion Leaders and relevant professional organisations.
  • Developing a good working knowledge of ABPI/IPHA Codes of Practice and company Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) with the aim of being able to advise on compliance issues and certify materials.
  • Providing input to Health Technology Appraisals or other market access submissions.
  • Developing and delivering medical / scientific training.
  • Ensuring training of staff to meet technical, medical, and interpersonal challenges of their roles.
  • Developing scientific presentations.
  • Reviewing training documents to check medical accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Developing promotional materials to ensure that all claims are fully supported by scientific data and are in accordance with the ABPI Code of Practice.
  • Providing strategic input into the development and execution of clinical trials activities and publication plans.
  • Providing scientific input & feedback on Post Marketing Study proposals.
  • Ensuring adverse events and pregnancy reports are duly processed in line with company procedures and assisting in the assessment of adverse event reports originating in the UK and Ireland for completeness, consistency, and reporting requirements.
  • Advising on medical safety or clinical issues as required.
  • Regularly reviewing clinical articles relating to therapeutic area and attending update events such as scientific meetings, conferences, and symposia to maintain therapy area knowledge.

Skills and Requirements:

  • Registered medical practitioner or pharmacist registered in the UK or with evidence of license to practice in another country.
  • Understanding of pharmaceutical industry.
  • Strategic thinker with adaptable & diplomatic approach o Final Medical Signatory registered with MHRA.
  • Capable of working independently, analysing, working with attention to detail, process and prioritise sensitive complex information, and solve problems.
  • Demonstrable multitasking, project management, and execution skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills, including communication, presentation, persuasion, and influence.
  • Good organisational skills, including efficiency, punctuality, and collaboration in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
