An international pharmaceutical company is seeking to recruit a Medical Scientific Advisor to be based in their office in High Wycombe. This organisation is known for its work and quality assurance across every phase, ranging from research and production to distribution and providing scientific information. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a leading company that that collaborates with international partners to provide cutting-edge solutions, pharmaceutical products, and services in the health sector.
The Scientific Advisor will assist in the development of, and conduct, a variety of Scientific Affairs initiatives. They will provide technical/scientific consultation to both the Scientific and the commercial teams to ensure accuracy and compliance with the standard and local rules and regulations.
Job Responsibilities:
- Attending scientific congresses and meetings to maintain therapy area knowledge and to develop/maintain relationships with external customers.
- Acting as therapy area expert.
- Providing scientific input & feedback on IIT proposals.
- Advising on compliance issues, reviewing materials to ensure all claims are substantiable by scientific data and are in accordance with the ABPI/IPHA Codes of Practice (for example those materials and arrangements related to advisory boards).
- Working collaboratively within the brand team to provide strategic scientific input into brand plans to develop an appropriate product strategy.
- Taking responsibility for the execution of the medical strategic plan.
- Providing support to the Head of Medical Affairs in developing and implementing Medical Affairs' initiatives to support the needs of the Company.
- Ensuring training of staff to meet technical and medical needs of their roles.
- Developing scientific presentations (for example those for RML use, or educational materials).
- Developing and reviewing training documents to check medical accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements in order to deliver training to commercial colleagues on such matters as therapy area awareness, competitor data, congress updates etc.
- Providing scientific support to Marketing, Regulatory, Market Access, Pharmacovigilance.
- Providing portfolio of data and medical/scientific input to HTA or other market access submissions as required.
- Advising on scientific issues as required.
- Interacting with KOLs within the therapy area to deliver the therapy area medical affairs plan meeting KOL needs, compliance requirements and ethical considerations.
Skills and Requirements:
- UK registered Pharmacist.
- MB ChB and/or MFPM.
- Pharmacy degree (medical or pharmacy degree preferred due to ABPI Code requirements for signatories).
- 2 years pharmaceutical industry experience including medico-marketing and PV.
- Medical Final Signatory.
- PV Trained to Level 3 - Internal.
- Compliance with ABPI Code of Practice.
- Demonstrable multitasking, project management, and execution skills.
- Good interpersonal skills, including communication, presentation, persuasion, and influence.
- Good organisational skills, including efficiency, punctuality, and collaboration in a team environment.
- Proficiency with computer skills, such as MS Office.
