ProClinical pair to take on midnight marathon for diabetes charity in Singapore

Action4Diabetics Sundown Fundraiser

ProClinical’s APAC Managing Director, Martin Grindrod and life science recruiter Gavin Ong will be taking part in Singapore’s annual night-race, Sundown, on Saturday May 28th to raise funds for Asia-based charity, Action4Diabetics.

The pair, who have been training hard for the gruelling 21.1 kilometres half-marathon, which begins at 11.30pm and will finish in the early hours of the morning, are motivated to raise essential funds for the charity that will go towards providing life-saving support for young people with Diabetes in emerging countries in Asia.

More than half of the 400 million people living with Diabetes today live in Asia. A4D aims to significantly reduce the suffering of, and increase the life opportunities for young people with Type 1 Diabetes with a focus on specific South East Asian nations, where young people with diabetes are unable to access the medical care and other essential support required to enable them to survive and thrive into adulthood.

Grindrod and Ong will be representing APAC life science recruitment company ProClinical, which has an international client base that includes leading diabetes drug makers, Novo Nordisk, Eli Lilly, Merck and Sanofi.

Grindrod said, “I’ve known Charles Toomey [A4D co-founder] for few years as a client, and was thoroughly humbled by his desire to establish Action4Diabetics. They have accomplished much in a relative short space of time and it is ProClinical’s goal to play our part in supporting them. I saw the perfect opportunity to do this through our participation in the upcoming Sundown Half Marathon.
