A Nordics based leading sperm bank partnered with us to oversee their first hire in the UK, an IVF Key Account Manager.
Our partner heard about our services through our reputation in the market for both Nordic and UK placements, and approached us directly to manage their first UK appointment.
They were based in the Nordics and had limited knowledge of the UK market, so needed guidance on rates and the availability of suitable candidates.
This was a new area for us to explore, so the main challenge was to build a suitable database of candidates.
Many members of the sourcing team had a background in recruiting for the NHS and were able to draw upon their network of nurses to utilise their clinical expertise. We deployed both Nordic and UK consultants to the project, making sure any cultural differences were translated, to ensure a smooth process. We devised a list of key competitors and headhunted, creating an initial shortlist of five candidates, who were interviewed via telephone by the hiring manager.
We then ran an assessment centre at our London headquarters for the final 4 candidates invited for final face-to-face interviews. These assessment centres consisted of presentations and role-plays, conducted by our partner, with a dedicated team of consultants on hand to ensure the day ran smoothly.
The hiring manager was extremely impressed by the calibre of candidates at final interview stage, and a successful hire was made the day after the assessment centre. We remained in close contact with our partner after the first hire, and six months later, another senior appointment was offered to and accepted by one of the original four candidates.
