Proclinical is seeking a Distribution Centre Operative to support the safe, accurate, and compliant handling of pharmaceutical products. This role involves maintaining product integrity, adhering to regulatory standards, and ensuring efficient warehouse operations. Responsibilities:

  • Receive and inspect incoming shipments, verifying quantities and batch details.
  • Store pharmaceuticals under required conditions, such as temperature control, following Good Distribution Practices (GDP).
  • Rotate stock using First Expiry First Out (FEFO) procedures.
  • Accurately pick and pack orders using warehouse management systems and barcode scanners.
  • Prepare dispatch documentation and coordinate with logistics carriers.
  • Conduct cycle counts and reconcile stock levels to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Report and investigate discrepancies or incidents.
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and GDP/GMP regulations to ensure product quality.
  • Maintain high standards of hygiene, security, and housekeeping.
  • Operate material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet trucks) as licensed.
  • Use warehouse management systems, handheld scanners, and basic IT tools for tracking operations.
  • Report issues or deviations promptly to supervisors.
  • Collaborate with warehouse, quality, and logistics teams.
  • Suggest improvements to processes or workflows.

Key Skills and Requirements:

  • Experience in warehouse operations, ideally within pharmaceutical or regulated environments.
  • Knowledge of GDP/GMP guidelines and warehouse safety standards.
  • Forklift license and experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with warehouse management systems, barcode scanning, and Microsoft Excel/Word.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team.
  • Experience with SAP or other ERP systems is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Lean, 5S, or continuous improvement methodologies is desirable.
  • Basic numeracy and IT literacy.
