Proclinical is excited to announce that new job opportunity has arisen for a Strategic Product Manager position to join a world-class genetics research solution company. This exciting company, which has acted as a pioneer in human healthcare, is looking for an enthusiastic and hard-working individual to join their team in Oxford.
The Strategic Product Manager will own the Strategic Product Management process to deliver a comprehensive portfolio of competitive products, provide input to the tactical marketing process, own and maintain competitor and technology databases, and act as a champion and owner of results in an area of responsibility.
Job Responsibilities:
- Understanding the global market for Microarray and Next Generation Sequencing in Cytogenetics and cancer.
- Analysing markets, defining new product development and product improvement projects, and providing marketing input to such projects.
- Liaising with customer bases and prospective customers to understand short and longer-term needs and feedback conclusions to portfolio review processes.
- Owning an annual portfolio review and discontinuation process.
- Spending a minimum of 2 days per month, or equivalent, facing prospective customers/customer bases to solicit feedback.
- Ensuring a successful transition of products and information to the regional marketing team for launch.
- Developing and reflecting USPs, and clear advantages in product brochures.
- Fine tuning positioning and future sales argumentation based on market responses.
- Providing input to the development of tactical marketing plans for portfolios; ensuring corporate strategic directives are met.
- Providing input to sales supporting literature and product collateral to effectively promote products.
- Identifying and updating conclusions from mining competitor websites and literature, along with soliciting customer feedback.
- Securing input from sales and support colleagues, along with regional marketing.
- Preparing conclusions that help drive the creation of successful customer value propositions for molecular genetic solutions across the portfolio.
Skills and Requirements:
- A minimum of a BSc (Hons) in a molecular biology discipline.
- At least two years of experience in a Global Product Management role in Life Sciences, Genomics or in vitro Diagnostics.
- A comprehensive knowledge and keen interest in developing applications, new technology, and an uptake in clinical and diagnostic applications.
- Customer-focused mentality.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Demonstrable experience in clinical molecular genetics, or cancer genetics, desirable. This includes being able to effectively communicate with clinical geneticists and explain concept to non-geneticists.
- Demonstrable lab experience in genomics technologies, such as PCR, Microarray and Sequencing is also desirable.
- A proven track record of success in growing sales in clinical molecular genetics, diagnostics, or cancer genetics markets. This includes managing relationships with Key Customers/opinion leaders in their field.
- A successful track record in product management and/or product development.
- An enthusiasm for potential of genomics technologies in clinical/diagnostic market.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong team ethos, with a demonstrated track record of success in cross-functional team and fast moving environment.
- An ability to manage multiple simultaneously to ensure timely, on-target, and within budget accomplishment of tasks.
