Field Specimen Phlebotomist Floater - Contract - Washington, D.C

Proclinical is seeking a dedicated and flexible Field Specimen Phlebotomist Floater. This is a contract position located in Washington D.C.

Primary Responsibilities:

This role involves providing coverage at multiple client sites, ensuring continuous service during staff absences or vacancies. The successful candidate will be responsible for the accurate, efficient, and timely collection and shipping of patient specimens, including urine, oral fluid, and blood samples.

Skills & Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in phlebotomy (1 year required, 3 years preferred).
• Graduation from a Phlebotomy Program or ability to obtain phlebotomy certification.
• Customer service experience is a plus.
• Ability to travel up to 75% of the time across the East Coast.

The Field Specimen Phlebotomist Floater will:

• Greet and identify patients in a professional and friendly manner.
• Collect urine and oral fluid specimens for drug testing, and perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques.
• Package and prepare specimens for shipping to the testing location.
• Perform data entry of patient information accurately and promptly.
• Handle customer service duties, including phone inquiries and face-to-face patient encounters.
• Collect patient payments as per standard operating procedures.
• Comply with safety rules and regulations, including proper handling of samples, maintaining cleanliness and neatness of workstations, and appropriate use of personal protective equipment.

Compensation:

• $25-$29/hour
