Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer

Proclinical is advertising a vacancy for a Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer position with a leading biotechnology company that specialises in RNAi therapeutics. The organisation uses this innovative form of therapy to treat rare genetic, cardio metabolic, acute hepatic infectious, central nervous system (CNS) and ocular diseases. The Senior Infrastructure Engineer will join this company in their office in Massachusetts. The Senior Infrastructure Engineer will work independently on multiple projects and take a leading role in the design and delivery of new projects and systems. They will independently design, configure, implement, and administer the hardware and/or software components of technologies related to the support of more complex compute/storage/network architectures and their related implementation. Finally, the Senior Infrastructure Engineer will demonstrate their ability to provide advanced support in systems administration and systems integration.

Job Responsibilities:

• Providing business and technology integration advice and support related to corporate and manufacturing business systems.
• Providing support for the implementation and maintenance of information systems hardware/software with minimal supervision.
• Accurately documenting users, maintenance, and information logs and recording appropriate changes for effective departmental readiness following protocols on a timely basis.
• Maintaining technical expertise in all areas of networks, computer hardware, applications systems, and related technologies, as well as software interconnection and interfacing.
• Performing advanced and/or complex experimental troubleshooting skills.
• Assuming a lead role in the projects related to complex networks, system implementations, and upgrades.
• Maintaining and administering complex IT infrastructure technologies encompassing compute, storage, and network functions.
• Making recommendations for strategic changes in the hardware and software configurations to improve technical, data integrity and security, and/or delivering improved applications utility to the end users.

Skills and Requirements:

• A degree in either Information Services/Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other related field.
• Any of the following certifications:
  • Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist
  • Citrix Certification
  • Cisco Certification (Data Center Unified Computing)
  • VMware DCV (Data Center Virtualization)
  • VCA/VCP/VCAP/VCDX Certification
  • Any other platform and system certification by industry recognized organizations.
• Previous experience of working in a GxP environment.
• Extensive experience in the lifecycle management.
• Demonstrable experience with either Microsoft Active Directory and Windows Servers, Cisco Networking, and Compute and Storage technologies.
• A solid understanding of project management, documenting work, and completing projects on a time-sensitive basis.
• Demonstrable multitasking, project management, and execution skills.
• Good interpersonal skills, including communication, presentation, persuasion, and influence.
• Good organisational skills, including efficiency, punctuality, and collaboration in a team environment.
• Proficiency with computer skills, such as MS Office.
