Senior Compliance and Legal Director

Proclinical is currently working with a biopharmaceutical company focused on developing cancer treatments. They are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Compliance and Legal Director to join their expanding team in Europe. This is an exciting time to join this company who operate across the United States, Europe and other international markets and have an extensive pipeline of products under development.

Job Responsibilties:

• Provide the legal perspective on compliance, governance, sales, research and development, company policy, and launches
• In charge of legal activities necessary for the day to day company needs including, but not limited to, contracts, negotiations, promotions, governance
• Operation responsibilities include: creation and implementation of policy and strategies, as well as collaboration with US Legal and Compliance team
• Providing high quality legal advice and support to the business, product groups, corporate functions and their leadership teams;
• Support legal positioning on promotional materials and public announcements relating to specific products or alliances;
• Drafting and negotiating a range of commercial contracts, including contracts for the supply of goods and services;
• Analysing legal and commercial risk, supporting the Compliance function;
• Managing corporate/commercial or other litigation through external counsel as required;
• Providing high quality legal advice and support in the following fields (i) pharmaceutical and regulatory law (ii) litigation (iii) intellectual property (iv) competition/anti-trust law and (v) reimbursement issues;
• Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills, together with a high ability to influence and negotiate; and
• Demonstrate a professional and culturally sensitive work ethic.
• Ability to work in a dynamic and international environment with a proven ability to communicate effectively and in an open and transparent manner.
• Experience of compliance (FCPA, UKBA, EFPIA, Data Privacy) issues

Skills and Requirements:

• 5-7 years of post-qualification experience in a pharmaceutical or biotech industry
• 2-3 years of post-qualification experience with compliance issues
• Previous involvement with international product launches
• Experience with relevant EU Laws and legislation
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• High academic achievement in the study of law;
• Professional training in EU corporate/commercial or pharmaceuticals law, gained at a highly regarded law firm or through in-house experience
• Fluency in English and one other European language highly preferential
