Research Associate, Downstream Process Development - Contract - Gaithersburg, MD

Proclinical is actively seeking a Research Associate for Downstream Process Development. This is a contract position based in Gaithersburg, MD.

Primary Responsibilities:

This role is focused on performing routine sample testing, maintaining accurate records, analyzing laboratory data, and assisting in the maintenance of department records and inventories. The ideal candidate will be a proactive team player, ready to present results in team meetings and assist in various laboratory tasks.

Skills & Requirements:

  • BA/BS in Bio/Chem Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Science, Biochemistry, Biophysics, Molecular Biology, Life Sciences, Vaccine Development, or a related scientific discipline.
  • Knowledge and experience in protein-based analytics (SDS-PAGE, Western Blot, ELISAs, Colorimetric assays, etc.).
  • Proficiency in Windows-based software, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills.
  • High energy level, a positive outlook, and a "can do" attitude.

The Downstream Process Development Research Associate will:

  • Perform routine sample testing according to SOPs using various techniques and assays.
  • Maintain accurate records of all activities and record all data in specified formats in real time.
  • Analyze laboratory data to draw conclusions and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Present results in team meetings.
  • Assist in the maintenance of department records and raw material/finished product inventories.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment, working with appropriate parties to complete asset induction, equipment calibrations, and corrective/preventative maintenance.
  • Assist in shipping and receipt of supplies and restocking lab.
  • Ensure proper disposal of trash, biohazardous waste, recycle waste, etc.
