Proclinical is seeking an Electrical Engineer with expertise in Building Management Systems (BMS) to oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of critical facility systems within a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical environment. This role focuses on ensuring compliance, reliability, and operational excellence across cleanrooms, laboratories, and manufacturing spaces.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead or support the design and installation of BMS infrastructure, including HVAC, lighting, access control, and environmental monitoring systems.
  • Collaborate with automation and controls teams to ensure seamless integration with SCADA, PLC, and EMS platforms.
  • Perform diagnostics, repairs, and upgrades on BMS hardware and software.
  • Respond to alarms and system faults to minimize disruptions to GMP operations.
  • Ensure all BMS activities comply with GMP, GAMP5, and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including change controls, validation protocols, and system specifications.
  • Support CAPEX and facility upgrade projects, including commissioning, qualification, and handover of BMS systems.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams such as QA, Facilities, and Engineering.
  • Analyze system data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for energy savings or process improvements.

Skills & Requirements:

  • Background in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in BMS systems within a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical or biotech environment.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC controls, cleanroom requirements, and environmental monitoring.
  • Experience with platforms like Siemens Desigo, Honeywell, Johnson Controls, or similar.
  • Familiarity with validation processes and regulatory compliance (e.g., FDA, EMA).
  • Knowledge of GAMP5, 21 CFR Part 11, and data integrity principles is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with SCADA, PLC, or EMS integration is advantageous.
  • Exposure to multi-site or global pharmaceutical operations is preferred.
  • Practical experience with commissioning and qualification of BMS systems is desirable.
