Proclinical is currently recruiting for an Analytical Chemist with a pharmaceutical company located in Lincoln, NE.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of the purchase and installation of new equipment in the laboratory.
  • Ensure good housekeeping and proper safety practices are being followed or are introduced when necessary.
  • Ensure routine lab supplies are ordered and refilled when necessary.
  • Conduct routine stability testing.
  • Acts as a technical team member with cross functional project responsibilities on assigned projects.
  • Provide expertise in the area of state-of-the-art methodology and installation and qualification of equipment within AS&T site and TPO laboratories.
  • Support operation and qualification of analytical laboratories and equipment at site level with expert knowledge and state-of-the-art processes and systems.
  • Support the OTC Quality Control network and lead activities related to analytical methods and instrumentation, as well as troubleshooting and resolving investigations to facilitate solutions to complex challenges.

Skills and Requirements:

  • BS or MS in Analytical Chemistry or related field
  • Individual should have strong understanding of chemistry, instrumentation qualification and calibration of lab equipment.
  • This is a technical position that will be expected to work semi-autonomously at times.
  • The successful candidate for this role will maintain all aspects of laboratory instrumentation and equipment (from purchase to final disposition) in a complaint manner while minimizing downtime and disruption to development and validation activities.
  • A thorough knowledge of current regulatory requirements will ensure that the laboratory equipment and facility is maintained in a compliant fashion. All of the main responsibilities listed above have a compliance aspect that must be met.
  • A degree in chemistry (with an emphasis on analytical chemistry) coupled with hands-on experience in a working pharmaceutical lab is essential if the individual is to successful as a laboratory support scientist.
  • Provide expertise in the areas of Analytical Science and Technology; method development and validation, structure elucidation of impurities, state-of-the-art methodology and installation and qualification of equipment within AS&T site or TPO laboratories.
  • Support the OTC Quality Control network and lead activities related to analytical methods and instrumentation, as well as troubleshooting and resolving investigations to facilitate solutions to complex challenges.
  • Because this position could potentially interface with many labs throughout the company network and TPOs throughout the world the successful candidate will need strong communication and interpersonal soft skills as well as strong technical skills.
  • The impact of this role can be felt most strongly in the Quality and R&D organizations.
  • This role is essential in producing quality, compliant and scientifically sounds products that meet current FDA, ICH and other Health Authority requirements worldwide.
