Sr Associate Scientist - Contract - Boston, MA

Proclinical is seeking a Sr Associate Scientist to join a dynamic team in Boston, MA. The position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge work in the immuno-oncology and pharmaceutical space.

Primary Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will focus on hands-on laboratory support and process development for the chemical synthesis and downstream processing of oligonucleotide-based drug substances.

Skills & Requirements:

  • A degree in Chemistry or a related field with relevant laboratory experience, preferably in an industrial setting.
  • Basic understanding of analytical techniques such as pH, osmolality, conductivity measurement, HPLC, and LC-MS.
  • Hands-on experience with oligonucleotide manufacturing processes, including phosphoramidite chemistry, chromatography, and ultrafiltration, is a plus.
  • Strong commitment to maintaining high laboratory and scientific standards.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Proactive and responsible approach to work, with the ability to meet aggressive timelines.

The Sr Associate Scientist's responsibilities will be:

  • Perform chemical synthesis of oligonucleotides at scales up to 11 mmol.
  • Conduct downstream processing of oligonucleotides, including preparative HPLC, ultrafiltration, annealing, concentration, and lyophilization.
  • Carry out in-process analytical testing using techniques such as AX-HPLC, IPRP-HPLC, LC-MS, and UV-vis.
  • Provide technical support for optimizing contract manufacturing processes.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized laboratory environment, assisting with routine lab and equipment maintenance.
  • Ensure accurate record-keeping and adherence to excellent laboratory documentation practices.
