Senior Associate Scientist - Contract - Cambridge. MA

Primary Responsibilities:
Proclinical is seeking a Senior Associate Scientist to support laboratory and process development activities for the chemical synthesis and downstream processing of oligonucleotide-based drug substances. This role involves hands-on lab work, analytical testing, and technical support for process optimization.
Skills & Requirements:
- Background in Chemistry or a related field; hands-on laboratory experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with analytical techniques such as pH measurement, osmolality, conductivity, HPLC, and LC-MS.
- Knowledge of oligonucleotide manufacturing processes, including phosphoramidite chemistry and chromatography, is advantageous.
- Strong commitment to maintaining high laboratory and scientific standards.
- Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
- Effective communication skills and a proactive, team-oriented mindset.
The Senior Associate Scientist's responsibilities will be:
- Conduct chemical synthesis of oligonucleotides at scales up to 11 mmol.
- Perform downstream processing, including preparative HPLC, ultrafiltration, annealing, concentration, and lyophilization.
- Carry out in-process analytical testing using techniques such as AX-HPLC, IPRP-HPLC, LC-MS, and UV-vis.
- Provide technical support for optimizing contract manufacturing processes.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized laboratory environment.
- Assist with routine laboratory and equipment maintenance.
- Ensure accurate record-keeping and adherence to excellent laboratory documentation practices.
- Collaborate effectively within a dynamic team environment to meet project timelines.
Compensation:
- $40 to $46 per hour
