Join a dynamic Process Development team and help transform scientific innovation into scalable processes that support the delivery of life-changing therapies.
Proclinical is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Lab Technician to join a dynamic Process Development team in Switzerland. In this hands-on role, you will contribute to advancing innovative chemical processes and supporting the supply of drug substances through high-quality experimental work, data generation, and collaboration with multidisciplinary project teams. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on process development, scale-up activities, and cutting-edge technologies in a scientifically driven environment.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct laboratory experiments to support chemical process development and manufacturing strategies.
- Generate, analyze, and communicate experimental data to project teams and manufacturing sites.
- Contribute to process optimization, troubleshooting, and scale-up activities.
- Support innovative technology platforms, including biocatalysis, flow chemistry, process analytical technology (PAT), surfactant-based chemistry, and sustainable process development.
- Participate in the manufacture of small-scale non-GMP and GMP batches for advanced therapeutic platforms.
- Perform chemical synthesis experiments safely and efficiently, ensuring alignment with project objectives and timelines.
- Collaborate with process chemists to design experiments, evaluate results, and propose next steps.
- Maintain accurate and compliant electronic laboratory records (eLN) and documentation.
- Assist with pilot-scale and manufacturing campaigns, including process familiarization, troubleshooting, and yield optimization.
- Ensure compliance with HSE, GxP, and regulatory requirements while maintaining laboratory equipment and infrastructure.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Skills and Requirements:
- Completed apprenticeship as a Laboratory Technician or equivalent scientific/technical qualification.
- Practical experience in synthetic chemistry with a strong passion for laboratory work.
- Hands-on experience in chemical synthesis and process development activities.
- Familiarity with scaling up chemical reactions and processes.
- Proficiency in using standard synthesis and analytical equipment such as HPLC, GC, NMR, EasyMax, FlexyALR, and other laboratory automation systems.
- Strong understanding of laboratory safety standards and HSE requirements.
- Excellent documentation and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in German (working level) and English (strong written and spoken).
- Ability to work independently with attention to detail, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and communicate effectively across functions.
