Postdoctoral Researcher

We are seeking a highly motivated individual for a fixed-term Postdoctoral Researcher position in the New Modalities and Therapeutics department. This exciting role will explore cutting edge antibody engineering concepts and will provide valuable experience of working in a biopharma environment.

Job Responsibilities

• Design, generate and assess functionality of engineered antibodies in vitro and in vivo
• Contribute ideas/knowledge and technical expertise to the project
• Communicate data regularly (presentations & written reports)
• Generate data and reports for patent applications
• Prepare manuscript for future publication
• Implement, analyse and interrogate data and troubleshoot technical issues
• Work independently while liaising with technical expert colleagues
• Ensure good attention to detail and record keeping

Skills and Requirements

• A PhD in a biological discipline
• A good understanding of antibodies, their structures and isotype differences
• Proficiency in standard molecular biology techniques
• Proficiency in recombinant protein production techniques (mammalian cell culture, chromatography purification systems, and associated analytics)
• In vitro cell assay experience would be advantageous, particularly in testing Fc mediated activity
• Experience in working with electronic lab notebooks and other relevant software (e.g. GraphPad, Sequencher, Snapgene, Pymol) would be advantageous
