Phlebotomist - Contract - Broadway, VA
Proclinical is in search of a Phlebotomist for a leading CMO. This is a contract position located in Broadway, VA.
Primary Responsibilities:
This role involves direct interaction with patients, ensuring their needs are met efficiently and effectively. The successful candidate will be responsible for patient identification, billing, testing, specimen collection, and customer service duties.
Skills & Requirements:
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow SOPs.
- Experience in specimen collection and handling.
- Familiarity with medical billing and testing procedures.
- Ability to perform regular maintenance on medical equipment.
- Comfortable handling patient payments.
The Phlebotomist will:
- Greet and identify patients in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOP).
- Obtain and review patient billing and testing information.
- Ensure proper test collection based on test requisition.
- Assemble necessary equipment for specimen collection.
- Collect specimens for drug testing following SOP and order of the draw.
- Match requisition to collection tubes for completion.
- Centrifuge specimens when necessary.
- Perform regular maintenance and quality control on test kits and urinalysis equipment.
- Prepare and package specimens for shipping to testing location following SOP.
- Handle customer service duties including phone inquiries and patient encounters.
- Collect patient payments in accordance with SOP.
