Proclinical is advertising a vacancy for a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) position with a cancer-focused biopharmaceutical company. This organisation operates across Europe, the U.S.A., and other international markets, with an extensive pipeline of products under development. They are currently recruiting for the MSL to join their expanding team in South-West Germany.
The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) will function as a highly trained field-based scientific expert, engaging health care professionals to exchange clinical, scientific, and research knowledge. Following regulatory and corporate guidelines, the MSL will facilitate and build scientific relationships and collaborations with the medical/scientific community; they will interact with local, regional, and national healthcare providers, medical societies, and organisations of the assigned European region/country.
Job Responsibilities:
- Functioning as the primary point of contact in the field for the company's Global Medical Affairs department.
- Interacting with key thought leaders and healthcare professionals in an appropriate & compliant manner.
- Exchanging scientific information with external parties.
- Intaking and managing investigator-initiated research interest.
- Reporting field intelligence to the company, including competitive information, perspectives about compounds, and the treatment landscape.
- Providing support to the company clinical development and operations teams through site recommendations, site initiation visits, facilitation of communication, and accrual support activities.
- Participating in national advisory board meetings and organising local and regional expert meetings.
- Providing internal and external training and presentations about preclinical science, clinical data, and outcomes.
- Representing the company at medical conferences and providing session summaries.
- Providing cross-functional support across the company by being a scientific resource. This involves regular and extensive reviews of the literature, developing presentations, and assisting with publications and medical communications.
- Developing and maintaining an advanced level of knowledge about pertinent studies, compounds, and diseases that would facilitate collegiate and scientific discussions with leading oncology thought leaders.
- Consistently demonstrating a high standard of excellence in the management of assigned territories while also supporting and contributing to the success of colleagues and the MSL organisation.
Skills and Requirements:
- An accredited degree in a relevant life sciences subject (consideration will be given to candidates with university degrees who have medical or scientific industry/clinical experience).
- Completion of relevant diploma/code of practice examinations.
- At least 3 years of experience in global medical affairs, with success in MSL organisations in Oncology preferred.
- Working knowledge of applicable regional and country guidelines and regulations.
- Prior experience with commercial product launches preferred.
- Skilled in multiple computer-based tools.
- Frequent travel by ground and/or air is required. Estimated ≥ 60% time away from remote office, and occasionally on weekends.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- An ability to rapidly learn and apply new techniques.
- Good interpersonal skills, including communication, presentation, persuasion, and influence.
- Good organisational skills, including efficiency, punctuality, and collaboration in a team environment.
- Proficiency with computer skills, such as MS Office.
- Mid-Senior Level.
