Microbiology Technologist

Be the critical link between microbiology expertise and pharmaceutical quality assurance.

Proclinical is seeking a Microbiology Technologist to join a quality control microbiology team in the UK. In this role, you will perform microbiological testing on sterile pharmaceutical products, ensuring compliance with GMP standards and maintaining strong aseptic techniques. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in microbiology or life sciences who are eager to contribute to a dynamic QC environment.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct microbiological testing on finished sterile products, including sterility and endotoxin testing.
• Adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
• Work with multi-day test methods and follow varied protocols.
• Utilize quality control systems such as SAP and LIMS-LES.

Key Skills and Requirements:

Essential:

• Degree in Microbiology or Life Sciences.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow SOPs.
• Good communication skills.
• Understanding of basic microbiology principles.

Desirable:

• Experience in GMP environments, particularly in pharmaceutical QC labs.
• Familiarity with sterility or endotoxin testing, aseptic techniques, and data integrity principles.
• Experience with lab systems such as SAP, LIMS, or LES.

Experience Level:

• Open to graduates with relevant lab-placement experience or experienced technicians with laboratory backgrounds.

Transferable Backgrounds:

• Pharmaceutical GMP labs.
• Food testing labs.
• Hospital labs.
• QC Lab Analyst roles.
