A global pharmaceutical company is seeking to recruit a Medical Affairs Director - Oncology to their office in Amsterdam. The develops high-quality biologic medicines that increase patient access to effective treatment. The Medical Affairs Therapeutic area physician is involved in the development of medical affair strategies, the professional relationships with external stakeholders, medical publication, and additional data generation including post-approval clinical trials after approval and investigator-initiated trials in the therapeutic area of oncology.
Job Responsibilities:
- Developing Medical Affairs strategy and plan in Oncology.
- Managing additional data generation activities, such as investigator-initiated studies, post-approval Phase IV clinical studies, and registries in Oncology.
- Communicating with business partners for medical affairs plan and strategy alignment.
- Establishing and developing professional relationships with external medical experts to expand research, advisory, and educational partnership opportunities.
- Providing educational and scientific support to KOLs as needed.
- Communicating and coordinating scientific opportunities with other internal colleagues and business partners.
- Attending and presenting at appropriate meetings (advisory board meetings, investigator meetings, external medical expert meetings, etc.).
- Developing and maintaining a good working relationship and interacting directly with SB HQ Medical Affairs, SB NL affiliates, Partner Companies, and other SB affiliates to understand global strategy and share best practices.
- Providing effective clinical presentations to internal and external audiences, tailoring presentations to meet specific audience needs, and providing relevant clinical presentations to P&T committee members, medical directors, and other key decision makers as appropriate.
- Serving as a scientific resource at key medical and scientific conferences, advisory boards, clinical investigator meeting, and patient advocacy group meetings as appropriate.
- Developing publication (abstracts, manuscripts, presentation at conferences).
- Reviewing promotional material for scientific accuracy.
- Providing expert scientific support and approval on brand materials involving drugs or documents and reporting for more important conferences and clinical trials.
- Contributing to the training and education of medical and scientific issues for internal staff.
- Building and updating scientific and medical knowledge about Samsung products, dedicating time to search for relevant information about new developments and competitors' products.
- Providing expert scientific support and approval on brand materials involving drugs, or documents and reports for more important conferences and clinical trials.
- Overseeing the launch of new clinical trials or clinical market access projects, ensuring all associated outgoing materials are scientifically and medically accurate.
Skills and Requirements:
- D. degree required, specialty of internal medicine preferred with special preference on oncology (subspecialty training and serving as an academic position).
- 5+ years of experience in oncology therapeutic area is preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in pharma industry is required.
- Experience of scientific presentation or publication is preferred.
- Demonstrable multitasking, project management, and execution skills.
- Good interpersonal skills, including communication, presentation, persuasion, and influence.
- Good organisational skills, including efficiency, punctuality, and collaboration in a team environment.
- Proficiency with computer skills, such as MS Office.
