Proclinical is seeking a Field Service Engineer to support the installation, maintenance, calibration, and repair of in-vitro diagnostics (IVD) and laboratory equipment. This role focuses on ensuring high system uptime, regulatory compliance, and exceptional customer satisfaction through professional on-site and remote technical support.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and validate diagnostic analyzers and automation systems following manufacturer guidelines.
  • Conduct site readiness checks, utility validations, and safety verifications.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electronic, and software-related issues.
  • Respond promptly to urgent service requests and manage spare parts usage effectively.
  • Provide remote and on-site technical support to operators and application specialists.
  • Deliver basic user training for safe and effective equipment operation.
  • Prepare detailed service reports, maintenance logs, and case records.
  • Maintain accurate equipment data, including serial numbers, firmware, warranties, and service history.
  • Report product issues, failure trends, and technical feedback to relevant teams.
  • Manage personal inventory of spare parts, tools, and calibration equipment.
  • Participate in training programs to maintain certifications and technical knowledge.
  • Adhere to all regulatory, quality, and safety standards, including ISO 13485.
  • Support audits, CAPA processes, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Skills and Requirements:

  • Background in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, Electromechanics, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in servicing medical diagnostic or laboratory equipment.
  • Strong understanding of electromechanical systems, automation, sensors, and software interfaces.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively.
  • Analytical and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
  • Knowledge of ISO 13485, ISO 15189, GMP, or LIS-software integration is advantageous.
  • Specialized training in chemistry, immunoassay, hematology, or urinalysis systems is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
