Machinist / Programmer - Permanent - Lino Lakes, MN

Can you troubleshoot, optimise, and program CNC machines to deliver exceptional results every time?

Proclinical is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Machinist/Programmer to join a manufacturing team in Lino Lakes, MN. This position involves advanced troubleshooting, process improvement, and collaboration with team members to support continuous improvement initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will set up, operate, and program CNC machines to produce high-quality parts while ensuring process efficiency and adherence to safety and quality standards.

Skills & Requirements:

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD programming and experience with software such as Esprit, GibbsCAM, or MasterCAM.
  • General knowledge of SolidWorks software.
  • Strong mathematical skills, including fractions, percentages, and ratios, applied to machining and inspection.
  • Experience with 5-axis machining (if required).
  • Skilled in blueprint interpretation and use of inspection tools.
  • Ability to train and manage team members effectively.
  • Proficiency in CAD-CAM systems and relevant certifications (e.g., GibbsCAM, MasterCAM, Esprit).
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize tasks independently.
  • Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in environments with noise, dust, heat, or chemicals.
  • Familiarity with PPE requirements, including safety glasses, earplugs, steel-toed shoes, and gloves.

The Machinist / Programmer's responsibilities will be:

  • Program, set up, and operate CNC machines to meet part specifications.
  • Create, edit, and optimize CNC programs while verifying tool paths.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting to detect and correct machine or program errors.
  • Conduct precise measurements using tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
  • Maintain strict adherence to quality, safety, and documentation standards, including traceability and inspection records.
  • Provide guidance and training to operators and machinists.
  • Monitor machining parameters, including speed, feed, coolant flow, and cutting depth/angles.
  • Support process development for new product introductions and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in production meetings and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Implement and maintain identification and traceability of all products and materials.
  • Ensure proper care and calibration of measuring instruments and gauges.
  • Conduct audits, including first article, in-process, and final inspections.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to verify compliance with quality standards.
  • Suggest changes to improve quality, reduce costs, or enhance operational efficiency.
  • Adhere to safety standards and promote a culture of quality and accountability.
