Proclinical is currently recruiting for a Key Account Manager position on behalf of a leading biotechnology company that specialises in translating RNAi into innovative medicines. The position is a full-time, permanent role in the Vienna office, and will primarily focus on developing and implementing key account plans in their designated territory to optimize care for patients. This exciting new position offers €90,000.00 per annum.

The company is internationally recognised for its development of medicines for people with rare genetic, cardio-metabolic and hepatic infections, along with diseases that affect the central nervous system. Furthermore, the company has several medicines in late-stage development.

The Key Account Manager is expected to develop territory specific strategic account plans in the context of overall product strategy. This will be done in collaboration with the various other departments of the company, including Medical Affairs, Clinical Research, Patient Advocacy, Market Access and Commercial, whilst ensuring full compliance with all relevant company, industry, legal, regulatory and ethical standards.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Representing the company and company-specific platform and products to relevant customer groups.
  • Developing and leading a territory and account plan, including customer targeting, in line with country strategy in partnership with the Country Commercial Lead and Medical Affairs teams.
  • Achieving pre-launch and post-launch KPIs, including sales and volume targets.
  • Performing detailed analysis of the assigned territory to identify, assessing and developing relevant centres for diagnosis and treatment. This includes developing patient identification, diagnosis and referral rates by executing against a territory strategy and account specific plans.
  • Ensuring a competitive advantage by building a portfolio of customers, after developing a thorough understanding of key customer needs and requirements.
  • Establishing and maintaining contact with key customers, whilst providing commercial and scientific services to ensure access at sites of care, and that logistics are in place to administer product
  • Managing and executing local meetings to drive diagnosis and treatment rates, in collaboration with the Medical Affairs Team for physicians and other healthcare professionals.
  • Representing the company at local and national events and congresses.
  • Liaising and collaborating with relevant internal staff (Medical Affairs, Commercial Leads, Market Access and Business Operations Manager), along with representing them to key customers.
  • Reporting and maintaining the CRM database.
  • Conducting all activities to highest ethical standards in accordance with country code of practice and local Laws and regulations
  • Significantly traveling, including domestic and international travel as needed.

Skills and Requirements:

  • Over 5 years of sales experience in bio/pharmaceutical sales and Key Account Management experience, in the orphan or ultra-orphan market.
  • Ability to develop strong & professional relationships for product promotion with healthcare providers in reference centres and the community.
  • Effective communication and influencing skills to engage with professionals at all organizational levels.
  • Strong business acumen to add value to the existing health care structures.
  • Ability to travel within a territory on a regular basis including overnight and weekend travel and must hold a valid driver's license.
  • Strong preference for a Life Science degree.
  • Written & spoken fluency in English is essential.
  • Qualified 'Pharmareferentenprüfung'.
