Skilled in IT and looking for a new challenge? This dynamic CMO are on the hunt for a dedicated Centre Manager to oversee the running of their data centre.

Proclinical is seeking an IT Data Centre Manager to oversee the operation, maintenance, and security of data centre infrastructure. In this role, you will ensure the reliability, performance, and security of IT systems while managing a team of technicians and engineers. You will act as a key point of contact for technical infrastructure topics, collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, and drive strategic initiatives to support business goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the physical infrastructure of the data centre, ensuring uptime, efficiency, and security.
  • Define and implement global data centre standards and strategies.
  • Act as a single point of contact (SPOC) for IT infrastructure topics at the site, liaising with service providers and internal teams.
  • Collaborate with local facilities teams to maintain operational readiness, including mechanical, electrical, fire, and cooling systems.
  • Oversee and assign tasks to the Data Centre Operations team.
  • Develop and periodically test the technical disaster recovery plan.
  • Plan and manage data centre expansions, migrations, and capacity planning.
  • Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to optimize operations.
  • Ensure compliance with security policies, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Drive standardization, automation, and continuous improvement of infrastructure systems.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of infrastructure environments and procedures.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and recommend innovations.

Key Skills and Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of data centre infrastructure, including servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling systems.
  • Hands-on experience with VMware vSphere, Windows Server, Linux Server, storage, and backup solutions.
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals and security best practices.
  • Experience leading data centre projects such as expansions, migrations, and upgrades.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, ISO 27001).
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CDCP, CDCMP) are a plus.
  • Proven ability to simplify and standardize infrastructure processes.
  • Strong project management skills and risk assessment capabilities.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical or other regulated industries is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to diverse audiences.
  • Fluency in English is required; German language skills are preferred.
