Proclinical is seeking a Field Service Engineer to join a dynamic team in Germany. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, calibration, and repair of in-vitro diagnostics (IVD) and laboratory equipment. This position focuses on ensuring high system uptime, regulatory compliance, and exceptional customer satisfaction through professional technical support both on-site and remotely.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and validate diagnostic analyzers and automation systems according to guidelines.
  • Conduct site readiness checks, utility validations, and safety verifications.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and diagnose mechanical, electronic, and software-related issues.
  • Provide corrective repairs and respond promptly to urgent service requests.
  • Deliver remote and on-site technical support, including basic user training for safe equipment operation.
  • Maintain proactive communication with customers regarding service progress and follow-up actions.
  • Prepare detailed service reports, maintenance logs, and case records in FSM systems.
  • Manage spare parts inventory, tools, and calibration equipment, ensuring proper handling and replenishment.
  • Participate in manufacturer training and maintain required certifications.
  • Support internal training for new team members and continuously update technical knowledge.
  • Adhere to all regulatory, quality, and safety standards, including ISO 13485.
  • Assist with audits, CAPA processes, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Skills and Requirements:

  • Educational background in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, Electromechanics, or a related field.
  • Experience servicing medical diagnostic or laboratory equipment.
  • Strong understanding of electromechanical systems, automation, sensors, and software interfaces.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively.
  • Analytical and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail and adherence to procedures.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Familiarity with ISO 13485, ISO 15189, GMP, or LIS-software integration is a plus.
  • Proficiency in English for technical documentation and training.
