Facilities Technician - Contract - Cranbury NJ

Proclinical is seeking a dedicated Facilities Technician to be part of a team responsible for the start-up and maintenance of equipment required to operate the Cranbury facility, laboratories, and manufacturing cleanroom.

Primary Responsibilities:

Additional responsibilities include equipment troubleshooting, equipment user training, and management of contractors related to equipment maintenance. The ideal candidate will also have a strong passion and curiosity for science and gene therapy with the desire to contribute individually and collectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Skills & Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience in facilities maintenance, building operations, manufacturing support, or a related field.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
  • Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Preferred GMP experience
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks including standing, climbing, bending, and working in mechanical spaces.

The Facilities Technician's responsibilities will be:

  • Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and installation of facility equipment and building systems.
  • Support the operation and maintenance of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, and mechanical systems.
  • Respond to maintenance requests and resolve facility-related issues in a timely manner.
  • Assist with preventative maintenance activities and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Maintain facility cleanliness, organization, and operational readiness in maintenance and utility areas.
  • Coordinate and support external contractors, vendors, and service providers performing maintenance, repair, and installation work.
  • Escort contractors as required and verify work is completed according to facility standards and safety requirements.
  • Assist with waste management activities, including routine, electronic, and regulated waste disposal processes.
  • Monitor and support critical facility utility systems, including water purification systems, gas distribution systems, emergency power systems, and remediation/neutralization systems.
  • Perform inspections and basic maintenance to ensure system reliability and compliance.
  • Identify and report system deficiencies and assist with corrective actions.
  • Participate in required training programs and maintain training compliance.
  • Support facility inspections, audits, and regulatory readiness activities.
  • Ensure emergency exits, mechanical spaces, storage areas, and utility rooms remain compliant with safety and fire code requirements.
  • Promote a safe working environment and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

Compensation:

  • $30 to $36 per hour.
