Proclinical is seeking a dedicated and innovative Bio-medical Engineer to join a dynamic team focused on designing and manufacturing cutting-edge, patient-specific medical devices. This role offers the opportunity to work directly with clinicians and surgeons, designing and implementing custom-made medical devices that make a positive difference to patient outcomes. Responsibilities:

  • Use medical segmentation software to extrapolate patient scan data into 3D models for clinical cases.
  • Collaborate with clinicians and surgeons to design and implement custom-made medical devices.
  • 3D print medical devices using various technologies and materials, ensuring high-quality outputs.
  • Work on diverse design and manufacturing projects.
  • Manage the design, manufacturing and quality processes within a hub facility to maintain continuous improvement.
  • Regularly maintain and calibrate the facility's 3D printers.
  • Liaise with the Sales Team to develop new business opportunities.
  • Attend surgeries to assist surgeons
  • Attend quarterly all-company workshop days

Key Skills and Requirements:

  • Degree in Bio-medical Engineering or similar related discipline
  • Experience in a biomedical engineering or related medical engineering role
  • Proficiency in using enterprise-level medical segmentation software applications
  • Experience in the design of patient-specific surgical guides
  • Knowledge of human anatomy and/or surgical procedures related to orthopaedic disciplines
  • Ability to discuss real-world patient cases with surgeons, design and recommend solutions
  • 3D CAD design experience related to medical devices (preferred)
  • Experience with Materialise Mimic's software and 3D System's Freeform software (preferred)
  • Knowledge of working with a Quality Management System such as ISO 13485 (preferred)
  • Experience with 3D printers/technologies covering FDM, SLA, SLS, and Polyjet (preferred)
  • Excellent project management and communication skills
  • Experience in developing surgical simulation solutions/phantoms (preferred)
