Associate Scientist: Analytical Chemistry - Contract - Tarrytown, NY

Proclinical is seeking an Associate Scientist to join the Analytical Chemistry Group.

Primary Responsibilities:

In this role, you will leverage advanced mass spectrometry techniques to support the biochemical characterization of therapeutic proteins across various stages of development. This position focuses on routine proteomic protein preparation, LC-MS analysis, instrument maintenance, and data processing.

Skills & Requirements:

  • Academic background in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field (BS or MS).
  • Hands-on experience with mass spectrometry and protein characterization.
  • Proficiency in chromatographic separation and bottom-up proteomics, particularly in host cell protein analysis.
  • Familiarity with LC-MS instrumentation, including routine maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Strong organizational skills for documenting experiments and presenting data effectively.

The Associate Scientist's responsibilities will be:

  • Conduct daily bottom-up LC-MS experiments to support the development of therapeutic protein drug candidates, including monoclonal antibodies, bispecific antibodies, antibody-drug conjugates, and novel drug modalities.
  • Perform LC-MS-based host cell protein analysis to aid product and purification process development.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot Nano LC and MS instruments as needed, ensuring optimal functionality.
  • Prepare buffers and calibrate/test mass spectrometry instruments regularly.
  • Document experimental procedures and results in an electronic laboratory notebook.
  • Present findings during team meetings and collaborate with colleagues to achieve project goals.
  • Contribute to general lab maintenance to uphold a safe and efficient working environment.

Compensation:

  • $45 to $52 per hour.
