Bench Chemist - Contract - Zebulon, NC

Proclinical is seeking a Bench Chemist to support routine testing and analysis of raw materials, packaging materials, finished products, and environmental samples.

Primary Responsibilities:

This role involves working with various laboratory instruments and methods while ensuring compliance with cGMP standards. You will play a key role in generating accurate data, maintaining laboratory equipment, and contributing to method development and validation.

Skills & Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Familiarity with laboratory instrumentation and methods (e.g., HPLC, GC, UV).
  • Strong documentation and data interpretation skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
  • Experience with Empower software is preferred but not required.
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to work in team settings.

The Bench Chemist's responsibilities will be:

  • Conduct routine analytical testing using approved methods and instrumentation such as HPLC, Vitek, GC, UV, microscopes, gram stainers, and robotics.
  • Generate valid data at expected productivity levels while adhering to cGMP guidelines.
  • Interpret and validate test data, ensuring accuracy in results.
  • Communicate deviations and important aspects of testing to the supervisor or designee.
  • Evaluate data generated by other team members within the analytical group.
  • Accurately document analytical data and review laboratory documents, including SOPs, technical reports, methods, and specifications.
  • Assist in analytical method development, validation, and transfer processes.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory instruments.
  • Train laboratory personnel on methods, instrumentation, and computer systems.
  • Review and revise training materials as needed.
  • Document training activities appropriately.
  • Participate in interdepartmental project teams or committees.
