Account Manager - Permanent - Washington, DC

Proclinical is seeking an Account Manager to join a dynamic team in Washington, DC. This position offers the opportunity to work collaboratively across teams while delivering impactful solutions to customers in the genomics and biotechnology space.

Primary Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will lead sales and account management activities within the assigned territory, focusing on the multiomics and synthetic biology portfolio. You will play a key role in building strong customer relationships, driving revenue growth, and achieving sales targets.

Skills & Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a Life Sciences field.
  • Experience in a commercial role within the genomics industry, with a proven track record of exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth.
  • Strong understanding of genomics industry challenges and familiarity with sequencing, synthetic biology, cell and gene therapies, and molecular biology lab techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement successful consultative sales strategies.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory (up to 50% of the time).

The Account Manager's responsibilities will be:

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve bookings, revenue, and business goals within the assigned territory.
  • Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline, proactively acquiring new customers and expanding market penetration within existing accounts.
  • Leverage expertise in drug discovery, drug development, gene-to-antibody workflows, and proteomics to deliver consultative selling solutions.
  • Provide accurate forecasts, weekly reports, and market intelligence to internal stakeholders.
  • Close sales deals strategically while nurturing long-term client relationships to drive business growth and retention.
  • Maintain organized customer and account information, ensuring accurate tracking of interactions and opportunities within the CRM system.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Product Development, Customer Service, and Technical Support, to align strategies and address customer needs.
  • Represent the organization at seminars, conferences, and local vendor shows to promote products and services.
