Are you a tax expert ready to shape compliant, forward‑thinking tax strategy within a global pharmaceutical business across Europe?
Proclinical is seeking a Tax Manager to join our client's Global Tax team, focusing on managing and advising on tax matters across a selected group of European countries, including Eastern Europe. This role involves overseeing tax audits, compliance, litigation, transfer pricing, and providing guidance on legislative changes impacting the business. You will act as a trusted partner to local finance teams and business stakeholders, bridging global tax strategies with regional considerations.
Please note that to be considered for this role you must have the right to work in this location or hold an EU passport.
Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain relationships with business partners across the region to analyze tax implications and provide high-quality support.
- Manage corporate income tax compliance and audit defense, coordinating with local tax service providers and internal teams.
- Lead tax audits, aligning information requests and strategies with global tax leads.
- Monitor and streamline procedures for indirect taxes, withholding taxes, and other regional tax matters.
- Stay updated on legislative changes and evaluate their impact on the business, alerting relevant teams as needed.
- Coordinate transfer pricing adjustments and documentation in collaboration with the Transfer Pricing team.
- Review contracts and business initiatives from a tax perspective to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.
Key Skills and Requirements:
- Strong expertise in tax technical matters and fiscal frameworks within the region, including Eastern Europe.
- Ability to analyze complex issues and present actionable solutions.
- Effective communication and influencing skills across diverse stakeholders, including finance, business, and external providers.
- Proficiency in managing tax compliance, audits, and litigation processes.
- Familiarity with accounting for income taxes and transfer pricing principles.
- Multilingual capabilities and strong interpersonal skills.
- Preferred qualifications include CPA certification, experience in shared services, and fluency in an Eastern European language.
