Sterile Compound Technician - Permanent - Hoover, AL
Proclinical is seeking a Sterile Compound Technician to join a team focused on the preparation and admixture of sterile pharmaceutical products in a controlled, regulated environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
This role involves working in ISO-classified cleanrooms, adhering to FDA and cGMP standards, and maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements. You will play a key role in ensuring the quality and sterility of compounded medications while supporting inventory management and cleanroom maintenance.
Skills & Requirements:
- Active pharmacy technician registration with the State Board of Pharmacy in good standing.
- Experience in sterile compounding with strong aseptic technique and hand-eye coordination.
- Familiarity with 503B sterile compounding is a plus.
- PTCB Certification is preferred.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Ability to work efficiently under time and volume constraints.
- Physical ability to lift up to 30 pounds and sit/stand for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and fine motor skills.
The Sterile Compound Technician's responsibilities will be:
- Prepare and compound sterile pharmaceutical products following FDA, cGMP, and USP <797> guidelines.
- Maintain accurate manufacturing records and complete required documentation.
- Operate and monitor computerized compounding and filling equipment to ensure quality standards.
- Weigh and mix components for sterile medication compounding.
- Perform quality assurance testing and maintain records of results.
- Sterilize devices and equipment under pharmacist supervision.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels, including reordering and verifying materials for batch compounding.
- Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning of the cleanroom environment using appropriate disinfectants and techniques.
- Complete end-of-batch reconciliation and count verification.
- Participate in aseptic technique competency evaluations and product validations.
- Assist in training new employees as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the department or pharmacy manager.
