Senior Scientist, Oligonucleotide Chemistry

Proclinical are recruiting a Senior Scientist, Oligonucleotide Chemistry for a biotech establishment. This role is on a permanent basis and is located in Boston. The client is focused on their new platform for innovative, targeted and pioneering therapeutics for multiple indications.

Responsibilities:

• Handle ordering and arrangement of chemicals and supplies required for oligonucleotide synthesis.
• You will curate and uphold the inventory of synthesised oligonucleotides.
• Manage automated synthesis, cleavage, deprotection, purification, analysis, and packaging of oligonucleotides, which involves heavily modified oligonucleotides.
• To improve synthesis yield, purity and deadlines for production of modified oligonucleotides, you will critically review and optimise the processes.
• Other duties may be assigned to this role.

Skills & Requirements:

• Educated to a PhD degree level in a chemistry, chemical/process engineering or biochemistry discipline.
• At least 2 - 5 years of experience in a pertinent organisation.
• A self-motivated individual who is able to work within a fast-paced work setting.
• Authorised to work within the US.
• Analytical abilities.
• Capable of resolving issues as well as meeting project goals.
• Familiarity with driving and assisting external teams at CROs.
• Demonstrated scientific input to projects, which involves co-inventorship on patents.
• Possess (co)-authorship on publications and presentations.
• Interpersonal, presentation and communication skills both verbally and in writing.
• A scientific creativity, with the ability to think and make decisions independently.
