Senior/Principal Scientist, Oligonucleotide Chemistry - Permanent - Boston, MA

Proclinical is seeking a dedicated Senior/Principal Scientist in Oligonucleotide Chemistry to join a dynamic team focused on advancing therapeutic antisense oligonucleotides (ASOs and siRNAs). This role involves collaboration across various scientific disciplines to enhance the development targeted oligonucleotide therapeutics.

The Senior Scientist of Oligonucleotide Chemistry will:

• Design, synthesize, and optimize ASOs and siRNAs for therapeutic applications
• Evaluate and refine processes to improve synthesis yield, purity, and production timelines.
• Contribute to the advancement of the oligonucleotide-based therapeutic pipeline.
• Stay informed on emerging trends in oligonucleotide chemistry and contribute to intellectual property filings and publications.
• Manage relationships with external contract research organizations to enhance synthesis capabilities.

Skills & Requirements:

• Expertise in chemistry, biochemistry, or chemical engineering with a focus on therapeutic oligonucleotide discovery.
• Hands-on experience with ASO and siRNA chemistry, including synthesis and modification.
• Proven ability to design novel base pair modifications to enhance oligonucleotide properties.
• Proficiency in analytical characterization techniques such as HPLC and LC-MS/MS.
• Experience in establishing an oligonucleotide chemistry lab is advantageous.
• Strong skills in managing contract research organizations.
• Excellent analytical, research, and organizational abilities.
