Proclinical is seeking a Senior Scientist specializing in Analytical and Biological Mass Spectrometry to join a dynamic team in the US. This is a contract role with the potential for extension or conversion. The position

Primary Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will focus on supporting research and development programs through advanced mass spectrometry techniques, particularly for the characterization of novel therapeutic modalities and monoclonal antibodies.

Skills & Requirements:

  • Proficiency in LC-MS-based sample preparation for proteins and peptides.
  • Experience with specialized LC-MS techniques such as hydrogen-deuterium exchange mass spectrometry (HDX-MS) and quantitative proteomics is a plus.
  • Knowledge of AAV virology, structural biology, enzyme function, and kinetics is advantageous.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with excellent interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to learn new technologies, solve problems, and work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • A passion for science and a results-driven mindset.
  • Master's degree or higher in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field.

The Senior Scientist's responsibilities will be:

  • Develop LC-MS-based analytical methods to support research and development programs.
  • Perform LC-MS data analysis using bioinformatic tools to characterize therapeutic proteins and other novel modalities.
  • Conduct sample preparation and LC-MS experiments independently, adhering to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Document experimental results in electronic laboratory notebooks (ELNs) and present findings in group meetings.
  • Write technical reports, SOPs, and contribute to regulatory filing documents.
  • Summarize results in formats such as graphs, figures, and tables for presentations, publications, and regulatory submissions.
  • Support regulatory applications and deepen understanding of antibody therapeutics and emerging modalities.
